The Emperor's Bridge Campaign to Receive 2016 Founder's Award from San Francisco History Association
The Emperor's Bridge Campaign* is delighted and honored to announce that the San Francisco History Association has selected the Campaign to receive the Ron Ross Founder's Award for 2016.
The Founder's Award — named after longtime SFHA president Ron Ross, who founded the Association in 1982 — is "given each year to a person, group of people or organization for performing an impressive undertaking that supports San Francisco history," according to the Association.
Previous recipients of the Award include author and journalist Gary Kamiya, the Wells Fargo History Museum, the San Francisco Arts Commission, former San Francisco mayor Willie Brown and San Francisco historian Gladys Hansen. Distinguished company, indeed!
The Award will be presented to the Campaign at the Association's 18th Annual Awards Dinner, held on Saturday 9 July at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club.
Details for the Dinner are here. RSVP by Saturday 25 June.
The San Francisco History Association is the lead sponsor of the Campaign's project to publish a book of selected Proclamations of Emperor Norton.
We're grateful to Ron Ross and the Association for their early and ongoing support — and for this wonderful recognition of our work to honor the life and advance the legacy of Emperor Norton.

* In December 2019, The Emperor's Bridge Campaign adopted a new name: The Emperor Norton Trust.
